About Us

We’re Black Salt Indian Bar & Restaurant, and we’re a premier dining establishment serving Sauk Village, IL, since 2021. We offer all day and night dining and serve a traditional breakfast menu, as well as Mexican and Indian cuisine. From breakfast skillets and pancakes, to tacos and burritos or tandoori and tikka masala, we have something to tantalize your taste buds. Our Indian menu will be served weekly at 1:30 p.m., and at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. We’re looking forward to partnering with Chicago Heights, Matteson, Olympia Fields, and the surrounding areas. Our Story

Owner Soni Mehul knew he wanted to open a restaurant when he bought the building that would one day become Black Salt Indian Bar & Restaurant. What he didn’t know was if he wanted to stay true to his roots and make his restaurant Indian themed. Soni spoke with a friend of his who owns his own Indian restaurant, which gave him the courage to take the risk. Now up and running, Black Salt Indian Bar & Restaurant has been serving authentic Indian food to their faithful customers since 2021!

We are the only Indian food available in the area and our menu is focused on healthy, organic, and fresh food. Some examples of our authentic Indian cuisine include goat and chicken biryani, chicken and lamb tikka masala, chicken and lamb kadai, and curry served with meats like fish, goat, shrimp, lamb, and more.

In addition to our delicious Indian food, we also offer other dishes to our customers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our menu includes breakfast skillets, pancakes, omelets, burgers, tacos, tortas, burritos, club sandwiches, soup, salad, tandoori shrimp, and more. Our dining room has a full-service bar available and we offer carryout services through apps like DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub.

Black Salt Indian Bar & Restaurant is available to cater large events that have up to 10,000 guests. No event is too large for our capable staff! We offer 10% off for first time customers.

Came here a little after 8pm on a Friday to eat. We had asked the lady at the front desk where were good places to eat at and she recommended here. I had the goat, my husband had butter chicken and my friend had paneer. The only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars is that the rice isn’t included with the main dishes, like every single other Indian restaurant I have ever been to. So, while the butter chicken was $16.99, it’s really $21.99 because you really need rice with all the gravy/sauce from the curries and that’s an extra $5. All the food was delicious.

We had great takeout experience at Black Salt Indian Restaurant! The tandoori mixed grill was superb, with perfectly seasoned and cooked meats that just melted in your mouth. The naan was equally impressive--soft, warm, and the perfect companion to the savory grill. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine. Will definitely return!
